Indian pacer Harshal Patel penned down a heartfelt note after being released by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction. Harshal Patel highlighted his incredible journey with the Bengaluru-based franchise over the past three years.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore announced the release of Harshal Patel in preparation for the upcoming mini-auction. Harshal was among the 11 players released by the franchise. The RCB franchise unveiled the list of released and retained players on Sunday, November 26.

Harshal Patel expressed his gratitude to the Royal Challengers Bangalore through a social media post on Instagram. Harshal thanked everyone in the team for their support and expressed his gratitude as he moves on from the franchise in his cricketing career.
“I want to share some special memories I’ve had with @royalchallengersbangalore . Last three years have been an incredible journey for me. I want to thank everyone in the team who stood by me through thick and thin. As I move on, I have nothing but gratitude in my heart,” Harshal wrote.
Harshal Patel’s Underwhelming Performance in IPL 2023
Harshal Patel has failed to live up to expectations since his record-breaking 2021 season when he clinched the Purple Cap with 32 wickets. The pacer’s performance declined as he managed to pick up 19 wickets in 15 games with an economy rate of 7.66 in the 2022 edition.
The 33-year-old recorded only 14 scalps in 13 matches with a disappointing economy rate of 9.66 in the latest edition. He hasn’t been able to make a significant impact with the bat as well. The franchise opted to release him considering his price tag exceeding ₹10 crore.
