India women’s Test and ODI skipper Mithali Raj has urged everyone to move on from her public stat with current head coach Ramesh Powar.
Mithali Raj had an ugly fallout with Ramesh Powar during the latters first stint as head coach after she was dropped from the playing XI for the 2018 T20 WC semi-final against England.
After India lost the game, Mithali and Powar publically accused each other of professional misconduct, post which the latter was sacked from the position of head coach.

Three years later, Ramesh Powar has regained his post and he will be spearheading the women’s team during the upcoming tour of the UK.
And, Mithali Raj believes that it’s time for everyone to move on and focus on the present.
“Well, I think can we move on from that? It has been three years, we are in 2021 and we should be looking forward now. There are many more series coming and you know, if you are repetitively asking the same question then we need to get you back from the past.” said Mithali Raj during a virtual press conference.
Speaking to the press, Ramesh Powar said that one should stop speculating, adding that he wouldn’t have returned as head coach had he not been on good terms with the players.
Power added that the upcoming months present a great opportunity to him and Mithali Raj to take Indian Women’s cricket to another level. He also reckoned that given the fact that he has spent a lot of time with Rahul Dravid at the NCA, his effect will be visible during the upcoming series.
”I would like to stop the speculation (on) what is happening. We interact well, otherwise, I would not have come back in women’s cricket. Everyone grows up after three years. There are larger goals, bigger picture, a responsibility, and an opportunity,” said Ramesh Powar.
“This is a great opportunity for me, Mithali, and the whole group to take women’s cricket to another level where BCCI is supporting us. We are professional enough. You all know me, I have been at NCA, I have been with Rahul Dravid, his effect will play in this series.” he added.
