"I wanted that situation": Suryakumar Yadav's shocking statement on India losing early wickets in 2nd T20I

Suryakumar Yadav-led India National Cricket Team locked horns with the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh National Cricket Team in the second T20I of the three-match series on Wednesday, October 9.
The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi hosted the second match between India and Bangladesh and the home team delivered an absolutely stunning performance to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
How Did India Batters Perform In 2nd T20I Against Bangladesh?
India National Cricket Team lost the toss but got what they wanted as they were invited to bat first in the match. The opening duo of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma tried their best to take India off to a flying start. However, they were not successful in their attempt.
Sanju Samson once again flopped with the bat as he scored just 10 runs off 7 balls, before being dismissed by Taskin Ahmed. While his opening partner Abhishek was back in the hut after scoring 15 runs off 11 balls. The skipper Suryakumar Yadav also bagged a rare failure, scoring 8 runs and the momentum slightly towards Bangladesh.
That was when the youngsters Nitish Reddy and Rinku Singh stepped up and showed their class. Nitish was particularly extremely impressive despite playing in his second T20I for India.
The SRH star played a brutal knock and smashed the Bangladesh bowlers all over the park. He finished his innings with 74 runs off 34 balls, with 4 fours and 7 sensational sixes.
Rinku Singh, on the other hand, smashed 53 runs off 29 balls and his innings was studded with 5 fours and 3 sixes. The KKR star even pulled off a God's Plan celebration after completing his fifty in the match. Then, Riyan Parag also chipped in with crucial 15 runs as India posted 221/9 on the board.
How Did India Bowlers Perform In 2nd T20I?
When it came to defending the total, Arshdeep Singh once again provided India with a terrific start as he dismissed opener Parvez Hossain Emon for 16. Varun Chakravarthy also handed an early blow to Bangladesh as he dismissed Litton Das for 14.
Then, the bowlers just kept showing their dominance and didn't let any batters settle in the middle. Jaker Ali was the only one who got going as he scored 41 runs off 39.
Eventually, the Indian bowlers restricted Bangladesh to 135/9 to win the match by 86 runs. Suryakumar Yadav used 7 bowling options in the match, and all of them picked a wicket. Also, this was the first time that 7 bowlers picked up at least one wicket in a T20I innings for India.

At the post-match presentation ceremony, Suryakumar Yadav said that he wanted India to lose early wickets as he wanted the middle-order batters to face the tough situation.
Suryakumar Yadav said that he was impressed with the way the middle-order batters played and showered rich praise on the duo of Nitish Reddy and Rinku Singh.
The Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav further revealed that he tried as many as 7 bowling options and didn't give the ball to Hardik Pandya because he wanted to see what others could offer.
"I wanted that situation, wanted my batters (5,6,7) in that situation. Happy for both (Rinku and Nitish) of them. They batted exactly the way I wanted. You got to go out there and express. Just the jersey changes, rest remaining remains the same," Suryakumar Yadav said.
"I wanted to see what different bowlers can do in different situations. Can they give me the difficult overs. Sometimes Hardik won't bowl, sometimes Washington Sunday won't bowl. I wanted to see what the other guys had in store, really happy with it. It was his (Nitish) day, I thought let him enjoy and make it large," Suryakumar Yadav added.
