Pakistan National Cricket Team’s ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan has once hit the headlines for his honesty and fearless attitude ahead of Multan Sultans' first match in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2025 (PSL 2025). Mohammad Rizwan addressed his struggles with the English language and the constant trolling for the same with absolute grace.
The Multan Sultans captain has often been mocked on social media for his pre-match and post-match comments, with many targeting and trolling him for his poor English. Well, Rizwan has openly admitted his weakness, but it doesn’t bother him at all.

The Pakistan captain has given a tight slap to the trolls by openly saying that he doesn’t speak English and regrets that he could not receive higher education, but that doesn’t define him as a cricketer. He also declared that social media trolling doesn’t affect him at all.
The star wicketkeeper-batter has pointed out that he may not be fluent in English, but what truly matters is honesty and speaking with a clean heart. Rizwan believes that his skills in the game of cricket and his honesty should matter, not the language he speaks, and he stands firmly by it.
Rizwan also stressed that he isn’t fazed by online criticism or social media mockery. As he prepares to lead the Multan Sultans in the ongoing PSL 2025, Rizwan has made it clear that language isn’t a measure of leadership or character. His focus remains on his game, his team, and leading with dignity.

Mohammad Rizwan said in the pre-match press conference, “I don’t care [about social media trolling]. I am proud of one thing, and that is whatever I say, I say from my heart. I don’t know English. The only regret is that I did not get enough education, but I am not even one percent ashamed that I can’t speak English despite being the captain of the Pakistan cricket team.”
However, the 32-year-old regrets that he did not complete his education. He pointed out that his current priority is to play for Pakistan, not become a professor in English.
The 32-year-old is proud of his cricketing journey, and his main focus right now is playing cricket for Pakistan, not mastering English or becoming an English professor. Rizwan made it clear that Pakistan expects runs and performances from him, not perfect English skills.

He added that if they want him to be a perfect English-speaking cricketer, then he would have chosen a different career because he doesn’t have the time to learn the language. Notably, the Rizwan-led Multan Sultans will face the Karachi Kings in their tournament opener on April 12.
Rizwan added, “The demand from me is cricket, not English. There is a regret that I did not complete my education, which is why I struggle in speaking English. Pakistan is not demanding English from me; if that is the case, I will leave cricket to become a professor, but I do not have that much time.”
