"I Will Never, Ever Forget" - Rashid Khan Picks His Most Memorable Performance In IPL

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan has become an important part of the franchise since his debut in IPL 2017. Rashid, one of the most exciting and talented leg-spinners in the world today, has captained Afghanistan in international cricket and in fact, led them to their first-ever Test victory, against Bangladesh.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rashid has done some amazing things with the ball, becoming the leading spinner for the team and one of the most important bowlers for the SRH along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Rashid has more often than not won matches for SRH single-handedly with the ball and has contributed with the bat as well.

Recently, in a video shared by the franchise, Rashid shared the most memorable performance in the Indian Premier League thus far.

Though most players feel that their debut matches in any format for any team are memorable and Rashid Khan also called his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) a great moment for him in his career, but instead, he picked a specific match in the IPL 2018 where his all-round show helped SRH qualify for the finals as well.

Sunrisers Hyderabad faced off against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eden Gardens in the second qualifier of the tournament and the winner would play Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final. The leg-spinner returned with figures of 3-19, helping SRH make it to the final of the tournament. Khan also showed his batting prowess by smashing a quick-fire 34* off 10 balls.

SRH won the encounter by 14 runs while defending 174 at Eden Gardens.

“I have so many memories in IPL. My debut for SRH but the best memory, I will never forget is the game against KKR in Eden Gardens where I took 3 wickets, 34 runs and a run out and we qualified to the final as well. That night was one of the memorable nights for me which I will never ever forget,” Rashid Khan said in a video shared by SRH.

The leg-spinner dismissed a well-set Chris Lynn for 48. He then cleaned up Robin Uthappa for 2 and later took the prized scalp of Andre Russell, who was caught at first slip, for 3.
