Ravindra Jadeja’s freakish run-out to dismiss centurion Steve Smith was one of the biggest points on what was a fascinating day of Test match cricket between Australia and India on day 02 of the Sydney Test.

The run-out once again put into context as to why Ravindra Jadeja is hailed as one of the greatest fielders that this game has ever seen. And, it seems like Jadeja himself was impressed with the manner in which he pulled that off.

It all happened in the 106th over of the Australian innings when Steve Smith, in an attempt to slog Jasprit Bumrah, got an inner edge and pushed the delivery on the on-side and scampered for a couple.

However, he could not complete the second run as Jadeja charged inside the 30-yard circle from deep square-leg, picked the ball, and in the same motion, bamboozled the stumps with a pin-point throw.

And, it is something that gave Ravindra Jadeja a huge satisfaction as he claimed in the post-day interview that he can watch the run-out on loop.

“I will rewind and play this run-out as this is my best effort. A direct hit from outside the 30-yard circle and that”s like a moment that gives you that satisfaction.” Ravindra Jadeja said.

It was yet another memorable day for all-rounder Jadeja as he once again showed why he is the real definition of a three-dimensional cricketer.

Before that freak run-out, the southpaw claimed four crucial scalps to help India restrict Australia to 338 despite being 3-232 at one stage.

But when asked about which of the dismissals that he enjoyed the fast, the all-rounder shrugged off the achievement of having taken a crucial four-wicket-haul, stating that three or four-wicket hauls are fine but it is the run-out that will stay with him forever.

“Three or four-wicket hauls are fine but this run-out will stay with me,” added the champion all-rounder.
