Ashton Agar, an Australian spinner, said he would love to play a Test match in India since he enjoys watching cricket there.

In February or March of next year, Australia is anticipated to go on a tour to India for the eagerly anticipated Test match series.

India last hosted Australia for a Test series in 2017, which India went on to win 2-1. In its eight visits to India, Australia has only once won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The games are over quickly but that’s really exciting and it just looks like a hell of a time to bowl. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve watched I reckon every Test series they’ve had over there because I’ve looked up to a lot of their players so to play one of them would be huge.”

In the Test match against Sri Lanka, Agar was expected to be the second spinner along with Nathan Lyon, but the left-arm spinner suffered a setback when he was forced to withdraw due to a side strain.

In preparation for the T20 World Cup in 2022, Agar will rejoin the Australian team for the ODI series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand.

Agar is hoping the larger grounds will enable him to play a more significant part with Adam Zampa as Australia attempts to defend their title on home turf in the T20 World Cup.

“I know I’m valued in that side. I love being a part of that setup in general, so we’ll just see when it comes to selection time,” he concluded.

Australia will tour India for a 3-match T20I series before the T20 WC.
