The International Cricket Council (ICC), along with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), is set to organise a "special matchday takeover" at Lord's when England and the West Indies play their Women's T20 World Cup Group 2 match at the venue on June 24 at iconic Lord’s. As UNICEF UK has tied up with ECB "to raise both funds and awareness for UNICEF's projects supporting children around the world."
This is a massive step towards the development of cricket and also to gain interest for the underprivileged children who can come and witness a cricket match. In recent years, women’s cricket has developed a lot across the world. The 10th edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is being hosted by England, where the inaugural edition took place in 2009.

However, since then, a lot of things have changed, and now crowds come in large numbers to support their favourite teams and support women cricketers as well. There have been franchise leagues running across the world for women’s cricket as well, from the likes of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) in Australia, The Hundred (Women) in England and the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in India.
Nabhaan Rizwan, a two-time BAFTA-nominated actor, will participate in the activity and walk away with the World Cup trophy with former England cricketer Isa Guha. "As a huge cricket fan, I can't wait to see England play West Indies for this ICC Women's T20 World Cup game, during which fans will also be able to donate to support UNICEF's work for every child," Rizwan said in an ICC statement.

England Women’s National Cricket Team will be up against the West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team. The two teams are currently unbeaten in Group 2 with three wins each, and the winner of Wednesday's match will surely cement their place at the top of their Group.
