In a massive development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has come down hard on a Zimbabwe cricketer and handed her a suspension.
On Wednesday, August 27, the International Cricket Council (ICC) released an official statement, confirming that Zimbabwe Women's National Cricket Team all-rounder Kelis Ndhlovu has been suspended from bowling in international cricket.
Zimbabwe all-rounder Kelis Ndhlovu faces suspension with immediate effect
In an official media release, ICC stated that the Zimbabwe all-rounder Kelis Ndhlovu was reported by match officials for a suspect bowling action during the first ODI against Ireland in Belfast on July 26.
She was asked to undergo the assessment in Pretoria, South Africa, and it was found out that the left-arm spinner was indeed using an illegal bowling action.
"Kelis Ndhlovu of the Zimbabwe women’s team has been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect. The decision regarding Kelis Ndhlovu of the Zimbabwe women’s team came after an independent assessment confirmed that the left-arm spinner uses an illegal bowling action," ICC wrote.
"The 19-year-old has been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect. She was reported by match officials during the first ODI against Ireland in Belfast on 26 July and she underwent the assessment in Pretoria, South Africa."

Ndhlovu’s suspension shall remain in place until she.... - ICC
The ICC further said that the suspension on Zimbabwe all-rounder Kelis Ndhlovu will remain in place until she undergoes re-assessment and converts her bowling action into a legal one. ICC stated:
"In accordance with Article 6.1 of the Bowling Regulations, Ndhlovu’s suspension shall remain in place until she submits to a re-assessment of her bowling action which confirms that she can bowl without using an illegal bowing action."
She has played 13 ODIs and 51 T20Is for Zimbabwe Women's National Cricket Team, scoring 192 and 822 runs and picking up 19 and 44 wickets. Kelis Ndhlovu also led the Zimbabwe U19 side during the inaugural ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup in 2023.

ICC announces European teams for Women's T20WC Global Qualifier
In another development, the Ireland Women's National Cricket Team and the Netherlands Women's National Cricket Team have officially qualified for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 Qualifier.
Ireland dominated and registered five wins on the trot to seal a place in the competition, while the Netherlands bagged a 65-run win over Germany to book their place.
They will be joining Scotland, Bangladesh, the USA, Nepal, Thailand, and three more teams in a battle to make it to the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 in England.
