The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has been surrounded by controversies over the last few months. From India's refusal to travel to Pakistan to the last-minute construction work going on in the stadium, the tournament has seen it all.
However, a recent controversy has taken the tournament by storm. The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) has allegedly decided not to print the name 'Pakistan' in India's jersey for CT 2025.
The decision has not been taken well by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and they have warned the BCCI from taking such a step. The ICC wants India to print the host country Pakistan's name on their team jersey which is a norm for every ICC tournament.

BCCI receives a warning from the ICC
Pakistan are the official host of the Champions Trophy 2025 all the participating countries, except India, will have the host country's name written on their jersey. According to the reports, India refused to write Pakistan's on their jersey as they will be playing their matches in Dubai.
However, according to A-Sport, the ICC has asked the BCCI to print the name 'Pakistan' on Team India's jersey as they are the hosts. While speaking about India's theory of playing their matches in Dubai, the ICC argued that Pakistan are still the official host.
"It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule," an ICC official was quoted as saying by A-Sports.
The ICC also warned the BCCI of strict action if they refused to print Pakistan's name on the Indian jersey. It remains to be seen how the BCCI, which is the world's most powerful cricket board, handles this situation.
PCB slams BCCI for bringing politics into cricket
The PCB also slammed the BCCI for bringing politics into cricket and claimed that it wouldn't be good for the game. Along with the printing of Pakistan's name, there is also a doubt of Indian captain Rohit Sharma traveling to Pakistan for the opening ceremony.
"BCCI is bringing politics into cricket, which is not at all good for the game. They refused to travel to Pakistan and they don't want to send their captain (to Pakistan) for the opening ceremony, and now there are reports that they don't want the host nation's (Pakistan) name printed on their jersey," a source was quoted as saying by Express Sports.
BCCI vs PCB on ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The PCB and the BCCI have been at loggerheads over the last few months. The BCCI refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the tournament which forced the ICC to hold the tournament in a hybrid model.
BCCI claimed that they didn't get the required permission from the Indian government to send their team to Pakistan. As a result, India will play all its matches in Dubai. If India manages to make it to the knockout stage, their matches will continue to be held in Dubai.
The tournament will begin from February 19 with the hosts Pakistan taking on New Zealand in Karachi. India's first match will be against Bangladesh on February 20. The marquee India-Pakistan clash will take place on February 23 in Dubai.
