After the Afghanistan tour, the ICC Champions Trophy will make its way to Bangladesh (December 10-13) and South Africa (December 15-22) before traveling to South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and England in the coming months, with India set to be its final destination from January 15 to 26.

The timing of the Champions Trophy’s departure from Pakistan has stirred unexpected reactions among the cricket fraternity, as the spotlight remains firmly on the ongoing tussle between the PCB and BCCI. Despite the controversy, the Champions Trophy is set to continue its global tour.

PCB denies reports of emergency ICC meeting over Champions Trophy 2025 dispute

Meanwhile, amid the ICC Champions Trophy tour, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied reports of an emergency board meeting set to take place virtually on November 26 to discuss the ongoing issues surrounding the Champions Trophy 2025.

It is being speculated that the International Cricket Council (ICC) was planning a meeting to resolve the standoff between the PCB and BCCI, but Pakistan has refuted these claims.

The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be held in Pakistan in February-March, but the prestigious tournament has been marred by tensions over India's denial to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns and Pakistan's refusal of the proposed hybrid model for the event.

India has asked for security guarantees before committing to the event; the PCB has insisted that the BCCI formally communicate its concerns before moving forward with potential solutions. A PCB source was quoted as saying by PTI: “We have no information from the ICC about any meeting between us, BCCI, and ICC.”

On the other hand, the ICC source confirmed the virtual meeting to discuss the future of the Champions Trophy 2025. The source stated, “It is a virtual meeting of the Executive Board members to resolve the issue of the Champions Trophy schedule once and for all.”
