Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla gave a massive update about India's participation in the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. He said that they haven't taken any decision and everything will depend on the decision by the government.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to take place in Pakistan in February-March. One of the major topics that revolves around the the tournament is the participation of the Indian team in the event, especially with it slated to be played in Pakistan.

Men in Blue haven't traveled to Pakistan for a long. This is because of the political tensions between the two nations since 2008 following the Mumbai terror attacks. They continued playing in bilaterals from 2012-13, but after that, it was stopped too, as they play only in the Asia Cup as well in ICC tournaments.

There have been a lot of reports of late that have claimed that BCCI isn't keen to send the team to Pakistan. It is learned that the tournament might be played in a hybrid model, with UAE emerging as the prime venue to hold the India games, just like it happened in Asia Cup 2023.

During the Asia Cup 2023, which was hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board, India games will be played in Sri Lanka, while some of the other games will be played in Pakistan. It was learned that something similar will be happening this time around as well. But PCB quashed off all the reports.

They have been strict and have mentioned that the entire tournament will be played in Pakistan. The governing body reportedly also stated that even if the Rohit Sharma-led side doesn't want to travel, they will be staging the tournament without them.

No decision has been taken - Rajeev Shukla gives an update about India's travel to Pakistan

Amid all the fuss, Rajeev Shukla gave an update about the team's travel to Pakistan. He said that they will have to seek the permission of the government, and whatever instructions they will receive, they will follow that. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the second IND vs BAN Test, he explained:

"No decision has been taken (yet). But our policy is that for international tours, we always seek the permission of the government. It's up to the government to decide whether our team should go to any country or our team should not go to any country. In this case (also), whatever the government will decide, we will abide by that,"

The ICC Champions Trophy will be taking place from 19th March to 9th March. According to the draft schedule, Lahore will be hosting seven matches, five games will be played in Rawalpindi, and three reported are slated to take place in Karachi.

The draft schedule also has suggested that the Men in Blue will be playing all the games in Lahore. The reports also mentioned that India vs Pakistan will be taking place at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on March 1.
