Australia women’s cricket team captain Alyssa Healy has put an end to speculation about her being pregnant after her husband Mitchell Starc withdrew from the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Mitchell Starc has become the latest men’s cricketer from Australia to make himself unavailable for the upcoming prestigious tournament starting on February 19.

Australia National Cricket Team captain Pat Cummins and star pacer Josh Hazlewood have already been ruled out of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to injuries, and now Starc has shockingly pulled out of the marquee event, citing “personal reasons.”

Notably, the seasoned Australian pacer played seven consecutive Test matches, including the five-match Test series against India at home and a two-match Test series in Sri Lanka. However, Starc’s silence on proving the actual reason behind withdrawing from the ICC event sparked rumors that his wife Alyssa Healy might be expecting, as she will also be missing the WPL 2025.

However, Healy ruled out of the WPL 2025 due to an injury. Well, fans speculated based on past instances, including Virat Kohli stepping away for similar reasons before the birth of his child. And then the couple recently purchased a luxurious $24 million Terrey Hills estate, Charlotte Park.

So, all these things straightly hinted at the couple being all set to welcome the little one. However, Alyssa Healy dismissed all rumors on the ‘Willow Talk’ podcast. She assured everyone that both she and Mitchell Starc are fine and she is definitely not pregnant.

Healy added, “Don’t look at me; I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t asked him about it yet. He’s fine, everyone. I am fine, more importantly. Yeah, we are fine. Move on.”

George Bailey says Cricket Australia (CA) respects Mitchell Starc's decision

Earlier, Chairman of Selectors George Bailey stated that Cricket Australia (CA) fully supported Mitchell Starc's decision to withdraw from the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where they will kick off their campaign against England on February 22 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The chief selector also praised the star pacer’s commitment to Australia and his ability to play through challenges. He admitted that Starc’s absence is a setback for them in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, but it opens the door for someone else to step up and leave a mark.

George Bailey stated, “We understand and respect Mitch’s decision. Mitch is deeply respected for his commitment to international cricket and the priority he places on performing for Australia. His well-documented ability to play through pain and adversity, as well as forgoing opportunities in other parts of his career to put his country first, should be applauded. His loss is, of course, a blow for the Champions Trophy campaign but does provide an opportunity for someone else to make a mark on the tournament.”
