India National Cricket Team batter Sanju Samson has been in the news of late due to his selection saga with the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). The batter wasn't picked in the team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, and hence it became a massive talking point in Indian Cricket.
Sanju Samson, who is the white-ball captain of the Kerala team, was dropped from the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 squad as he didn't attend the preparatory camp. The keeper-batter sent just a one-liner mail to KCA about his unavailability for the camp but told them he would be available for the tournament.
KCA snubs Sanju Samson from the squad of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25
However, the one-liner mail and his unavailability for the camp didn't go well with the KCA as they axed him from the squad of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. There were reports that the batter missing the tournament was the main reason behind his snub for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
But as per the latest reports in RevSportz, it is learned that KCA only didn't play a part in his snub, but it was BCCI, too, who didn't like Sanju Samson's antics. The reports claimed that the BCCI asked the batter why he didn't play the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 despite being mandatory to play.
BCCI fumes over casual approach of Sanju Samson
Samson, however, was honest in his reply, saying that the state association told him that if he didn't attend camp, he wouldn't be able to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. The BCCI then asked the keeper-batter as to why he didn't attend the camp and if he was taking things casually.
Samson, this time, was casual in his response, saying that he felt that he would be allowed to play even if he missed the camp, just like the last time. The reports claimed that this reply didn't go well with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as they didn't like his casual approach.

Sanju se Board ne poocha - Aapne Vijay Hazare kyu nahi khela ?
Sanju - state association ne kaha camp nahi karoge to nahi kheloge
Board - jab kaha gaya tha to aapne camp kyu nahi kiya ? Matlab aap…
It's fair to say that Samson himself will have to blame for his snub from the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. As a result of this, the India National Cricket Team went in with two keepers Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul, who were part of the Test series against Australia as well.
Sanju Samson will now be seen in action during the T20I series against the England
Sanju Samson's exclusion from the Indian team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 made many fans and experts lash out at the BCCI for their selection. The keeper-batter has a great record in the ODIs, as he has an average of over 55 and slammed a ton in his last game.
Sanju Samson will now be seen in action during the T20I series against the England National Cricket Team. The first game of the five-match series between the teams will be taking place from Wednesday (22nd January) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
