ICC Champions Trophy 2025: 'They’re like their country' - Aakash Chopra roasts Pakistan, exposes weaknesses

Former India National Cricket Team opening batsman Aakash Chopra brutally trolled the Pakistan National Cricket Team while talking about their weaknesses heading into the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Aakash Chopra opined that Team Pakistan are extremely inconsistent and volatile just like their country, which is their major weakness.

Pakistan entering ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as defending champions

The Men In Green, under the leadership of Sarfaraz Ahmed, won the last edition of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 by beating India in the final.

Pakistan defeated India by a huge margin of 180 runs at The Oval on June 18 to lift the trophy. Opening batsman Fakhar Zaman was awarded Player of the Match in the final for his sensational innings of 114 runs off 106 balls, that player a vital role in Pakistan posting a good total of 338 runs on the board.

Meanwhile, India and Pakistan will lock horns with each other in the 5th match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, February 23.

In the recent matches between the team, the Men In Blue have been dominant and they would be looking to continue their momentum.

Speaking on his official YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said that the biggest weakness of Pakistan National Cricket Team is not being able to handle the pressure situations.

According to Chopra, Team Pakistan crumble under pressure and this was evident during the last few International Cricket Council events. Aakash Chopra said:

"Pakistan's weakness is not a weakness of today. It's a perennial weakness. Of course, they are the defending champions in the Champions Trophy, but the truth is that they get stuck under pressure. They lost to the USA in the last ICC event (2024 T20 World Cup) and didn't qualify for the second round.

"They reached the final in the 2022 T20 World Cup for sure but they were totally missing in the 2023 ODI World Cup. So this is a team that just implodes under pressure. They just go completely missing. So you will have to agree that is one of Pakistan's weaknesses."

While taking a brutal dig at Pakistan, the cricketer-turned-commentator said that the Men In Green are just like their country - highly volatile and unpredictable. Aakash Chopra elaborated:

"Secondly, they are inconsistent. Their graph goes up and down. They rarely have a flat line. They are probably like their country. Their country also goes like that, up and down. The same is reflected in their cricket team.

"They are volatile. They are an unpredictable side. Pakistan's middle name is unpredictable. So imploding under pressure and an unpredictable side, those are a couple of issues. Can Pakistan overcome that? That is my question mark because they will be under pressure."
