The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the match officials for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. A total of 12 officials will be officiating in the tournament, which will begin on 19th February and will conclude on 9th March.

The ICC Champions Trophy will have six umpires from the previous edition. Richard Kettleborough, who was on-field umpire during the final of the last edition, will be along with Chris Gaffaney, Kumar Dharmasena, Richard Illingworth, Paul Reiffel, and Rod Tucker, who also officiated in the 2017 tournament.

Along with the above-mentioned umpires, Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Ahsan Raza, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, Alex Wharf, and Joel Wilson, all of whom officiated at the World Cup in India will be part of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as well.

David Boon will lead the panel of match referees, which will see Ranjan Madugalle, and Andrew Pycroft, who are part of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees. Boon officiated the 2017 Champions Trophy final, while Madugalle will be back after hosting the 2013 final. Pycroft also featured in the 2017 tournament.

Notably, the Indian umpire Nitin Menon has not been included in the panel as he himself withdrew his name.

"Indian umpire Nitin Menon has opted out of Champions Trophy duties in Pakistan due to personal reasons," BCCI sources told PTI.

Sean Easey, ICC Senior Manager of Umpires and Referees, said that he is pleased to announce the match officials for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He talked about the experience all the officials would bring and wished them luck for the tournament.

“We are pleased to announce this highly credentialed team of match officials for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. Their collective expertise and experience will be invaluable in ensuring the tournament runs smoothly.”

The ICC Champions Trophy will be played across four venues in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi in Pakistan, and Dubai in the UAE. The tournament will see 8 teams featuring, with Pakistan taking on New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi in the tournament opener.

This will be the first time that the ICC Champions Trophy will be played after 2017. Pakistan are the runners-up as they beat India in the final in the last edition.
