ICC gives shocking verdict on awful Sydney pitch; ratings for all BGT tracks revealed

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the ratings for the pitches during the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. India National Cricket Team and the Australia National Cricket Team played across five venues in the series.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 arguably was one of the most competitive series in recent times. Both the India National Cricket Team and the Australia National Cricket Team gave their best and made sure that they fought till the very end to give endless entertainment to fans.

Perth Stadium, Adelaide Oval, Gabba, and the MCG rated 'Very good', Sydney given a 'satisfactory' rating

The first match of the series between India and Australia was played at the Perth Stadium in Perth and the pitch for that has got the highest rating of 'very good'. The second game of the BGT 2024-25 was played at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.

It was a day and night Test match, and the ICC has rated Adelaide's pitch 'very good' as well. The action then moved to the Gabba in Brisbane, followed by the Boxing-day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. The venues for both matches have been rated 'very good'.

The last match of the Test series between India and Australia took place at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. The pitch there was one of the most spicy surfaces across all five venues. Even the Australian players were vocal about it, saying that they hadn't seen anything like that in Sydney.

Cricket Australia confirms ICC's ratings of pitches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

However, the pitch at the Sydney Cricket Ground has been rated 'satisfactory' by the International Cricket Council (ICC). This is the second-best category in the ratings. Cricket Australia confirmed all the ratings of pitches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and said:

"The ICC has released its pitch ratings for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with the Perth Stadium, Adelaide Oval, Gabba, and the MCG pitch all receiving the highest 'very good' rating, and the SCG was given the second top category 'satisfactory'.

Australia National Cricket Team won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 after a long wait of 10 years

Coming to the Test series, it was the Australia National Cricket Team who finally had their hands at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. They beat the India National Cricket Team by the margin of 3-1 and also qualified for the final of the ICC World Test Championship.

India started the series on high as they won the first game in Perth by a massive margin of 295 runs. But after that, Australia made a strong comeback and won the next game at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide by 10 wickets to level the series. The third match ended in a draw as rain played a massive part.

In the last two games, it was all about the Australia National Cricket Team. They beat India by a huge margin of 184 runs in Melbourne and then followed it up with a 6-wicket win in Sydney.
