ICC Player of the Month for April 2025 announced, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Kathryn Bryce bag awards

Bangladesh National Cricket Team all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been crowned the ICC Player of the Month for April. He got a nod ahead of Zimbabwe's Blessing Muzarabani and New Zealand’s Ben Sears to win the award.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was exceptional with the bat and ball in the month of April for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The all-rounder claimed his first Player of the Month Award and became the third Player from his team after Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan to get the award.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 116 runs and picked 15 wickets in April
Mehidy was one of the major reasons behind Bangladesh ending the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe in a draw. The all-rounder oozed his class with the bat and ball in both games as he troubled the opposition big time in the series.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz started the series with his magic with the ball. In the match, which took place at Sylhet, the all-rounder picked a five-wicket haul in both innings. He picked 5/52 in the first innings and 5/50 in the second innings, but his effort went in vain as Bangladesh lost the game.
However, in the second game, he made sure that he took matters into his own hands with the bat and ball. Mehidy Hasan Miraz first brought his best with the bat as he slammed a magnificent century, ending with an innings of 104 off 162.
After that, Mehidy Hasan Miraz came up with another magical effort with the ball. The Bangladesh National Cricket Team all-rounder had another five-wicket haul as he returned with the figures of 5/32 to help his team win the game by an innings and 106 runs in Chattogram.
Overall in April, Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 116 runs in two Tests at an average of 38.66 and 15 wickets at an average of 11.86.

Sharing his excitement about winning the award, Mehidy Hasan Miraz said that it's an incredible honour for him to win the award. He said that this award reminded him of his journey and is a massive source of inspiration going ahead. Speaking to the ICC, he said:
"It’s an incredible honour to win the ICC Men’s Player of the Month. The ICC Awards are the ultimate recognition for any cricketer, and to receive this from a global vote means a lot to me. Moments like these remind me of my journey — being named Player of the Tournament in the 2016 ICC Under 19 World Cup was a massive encouragement early in my career, and this award feels just as special.
"I am truly delighted. This award will be a big source of inspiration for me to keep giving my best and contributing to Bangladesh’s success on the world stage. As cricketers, we dream of making an impact and bringing joy to our fans.

Scotland skipper Kathryn Bryce wins ICC Women’s Player of the Month
In terms of the ICC Women’s Player of the Month, Scotland skipper Kathryn Bryce was given the award. She beat Hayley Matthews of the West Indies and Pakistan's Fatima Sana to win the award for her impressive performances.
She was exceptional with the bat and ball in the World Cup Qualifiers. She finished the tournament as the leading run-scorer with 293 runs at an average of 73.25 to go with a ton and two half-centuries. She also picked up six wickets in the tournament.
