The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly shared a draft schedule of the much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with all of its stakeholders, including broadcasters and all participating teams.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in Pakistan next year as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has the hosting rights for it. However, recent media reports state that the tournament could be a two-country affair since India are more than unlikely to visit Pakistan for the ICC competition. India have not visited Pakistan since 2008 due to the political tension between the two countries.

Last year, the BCCI also decided against sending the team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. As a result, the Asian Cricket Council came up with a hybrid model and India played all of their games in Sri Lanka including the final. And reports suggest that a similar arrangement could be in place for next year's Champions Trophy as well.

India to play Champions Trophy games in Lahore:

While the BCCI is yet to take the final call on sending Team India to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, it seems like the ICC is confident the Men in Blue will be crossing the borders next year. Also, the ICC has approved a $65 million budget, including costs for staging games outside Pakistan.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, the apex body of the game has shared the draft schedule of the Champions Trophy with all the teams, and all of India's games are set to be held in Lahore. It clearly means that the ICC is still not planning on making the Champions Trophy a two-country event.

Talking about the Champions Trophy draft schedule, Team India are in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. On the other hand, Australia, England, Afghanistan, and South Africa are in Group B.

New Zealand and Pakistan will be taking on each other in the tournament opener on February 19 while India will be opening their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20. The high-voltage India vs Pakistan clash is scheduled to take place on March 1. India's other group game is against New Zealand on February 23.

The two semifinals are scheduled to be held in Karachi on March 5 and Pindi on March 6 while the final is set to take place in Lahore on March 9.
