The much-anticipated contest between India and Pakistan in the group stages of the T20 World cup 2021 is scheduled to take place on October 24 and all eyes will be on this nail-biting game. The intensity of the game has been really high already as the two nations do not play much bilateral series.
They get to face each other only in the ICC tournaments and there have been lots of matches in the past between these two teams that have gone right down into the wire. The match is expected to be more than a rivalry and it does involve a lot of emotions from the player’s side too.
India’s Stunning Record Against Pakistan in ICC Worldcup Games
India last faced Pakistan in the 2019 Worldcup group fixtures and went on to win the game under the leadership of Virat Kohli. More than that, India’s record is unbelievable against Pakistan in ICC Worldcup games in both formats of the T20 and the 50 overs as they haven’t lost a game so far since the first fixture in the 1992 World Cup. Pakistan will have to settle up the 0-12 score so far for them against India in Worldcup games.
Pakistan managed to beat India in the ICC Champions Trophy final in 2017, but they will be hoping to get their first win against India in a Worldcup fixture. India and Pakistan will also play against New Zealand and Afghanistan in their group fixtures along with two teams from the qualifiers from Round 1. India will be looking to continue their undefeated streak against Pakistan so far in the Worldcup fixtures.
ICC T20 World Cup Complete Schedule To Be Announced Later
The complete schedule of the ICC T20 Worldcup will be announced later and the tournament will be taking place in UAE and Oman from October 17 to November 14. Australia, South Africa, West Indies, and England have been placed in Group A which looks very tight and there will be a lot of competition for a spot in the semifinals.
The BCCI has shifted the tournament to UAE after the concerns over the rising number of Covid-cases in India weren’t solved.
