Pakistan Cricket Team suffered a massive T20I Series loss against England. The score-line of the series may look 4-3 but it was the visitors who were in the commanding position for most of the series. England Cricket Team was playing with a lot of cricketers who were new to the International Arena, yet they pulled off a heist.

Pakistan Cricket Team would be worried as once again their middle order batters have failed to put runs on board. This problem has been going on for quite some time now. Alone Babar & Rizwan can’t bat 20 overs and chase targets. The management will have to make some tough calls if they want to do well in T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Wasim Akram on Iftikhar Ahmed

Iftikhar Ahmed was seen interacting with a local news channel and was asked about playing in Australia & New Zealand: “The conditions in Australia and New Zealand will be different but I have experience playing there, which will suit me. Hitting sixes in big Australian grounds is not a problem.”

Wasim Akram made it clear to Iftikhar that T20 World Cup 2022 will be a completely different ball game. The former skipper also praised the middle order batter but warned him that he shouldn’t get carried away in the big event.

Same Middle Order Conundrum for Pakistan

We have seen in Asia Cup 2022 how the team was heavily reliant on the openers. There’s no doubt that the team has got a bunch of pinch hitters but they don’t have a batter who can provide stability in the middle. The Men in Green should try to use Shadab Khan at the No.4 position as he is someone who can be the unexpected hero for the team.

Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq and Skipper Babar Azam need to pull a rabbit out of the hat as forming a winning combination in the 11th hour look a bit improbable. Pakistan batters should keep things simple and don’t try to complicate things in the middle overs as that phase is hurting the team a lot.
