The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Monday (June 16), announced the full schedule for the upcoming ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025.
The marquee event is scheduled to be played from September 30 to November 2 in India and Sri Lanka. While India have the hosting rights for the entire tournament, Sri Lanka have been picked as the neutral venue to host the games involving Pakistan. Pakistan will not travel to India due to the political tension between the two countries.
Earlier this year, India had also refused to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy and played all of their games in the UAE. India will be hosting the Women's ODI World Cup for the fourth time and first time since 2013.
Before the main event begins, all the participating teams will also play two warm-up matches each, starting on 24 September. Hosts India will take on England and South Africa in their two warm-up matches.

A total of eight teams will be participating in the tournament. Out of the eight teams, six teams qualified directly while the other two teams booked the spots in the Women's World Cup through the qualifiers.
Apart from hosts India, defending champions Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka qualified directly after finishing in the top six in the ICC Women’s Championship Standings. On the other hand, Pakistan and Bangladesh booked their places by finishing in the top two at the Qualifier earlier this year.

The format of the Women's ODI World Cup will see each team facing the other seven teams once in a single round-robin. The top four teams will then qualify for the semifinals.
ICC Women's ODI World Cup venues:
The Women's ODI World Cup will be played across five venues in India and Sri Lanka. Bengaluru, Vizag, Indore, and Guwahati will be the venues in Indi,a while Colombo will be hosting the games in Sri Lanka.
One semifinal will be played in Bengaluru while the other will be played in Guwahati or Colombo, depending on Pakistan's progression. The final is scheduled to be played on November 2 in Bengaluru or Colombo.

ICC Women's ODI World Cup full schedule:
The Women's ODI World Cup will begin on September 30 with the game between India and Sri Lanka in Bengaluru. Reigning champions Australia will start their campaign against New Zealand in Indore on October 1, while England will be facing South Africa on October 3 in Bengaluru.
Pakistan and Bangladesh will face each other in their tournament opener on October 2 in Colombo. Sri Lanka will launch their campaign against Australia on October 4 in Colombo.
