ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Team of the Tournament announced, only one Indian player features

International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday (21st October) announced the Team of the Tournament for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. The side features only one player from the India Women's National Cricket Team.

South Africa Women's National Cricket Team opening batters in Laura Wolvaardt and Tanzim Brits form the opening pair in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Team of the Tournament. The duo played a great role in taking the Proteas Team to the final of the tournament.

Laura Wolvaardt slammed 223 runs while opening the innings at an average of 44.60, along with a strike rate of 113.19, along with one fifty, which came in the first game, and also slammed 42 in the semi-final. On the other hand, Brits mustered 187 runs in six innings at an average of 37.40, making her the second-highest run-scorer after her opening partner.

Danni Wyatt, Melie Kerr, and Harmanpreet Kaur feature in Team of the Tournament for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024

England's leading run-getter in the tournament, Danni Wyatt, made the cut into the Team of the Tournament at No.3. The right-hander slammed 151 runs in 4 games at an average of 50.33 and strike rate of 124.79. She also slammed one fifty in the tournament, which came in the game against Scotland.

The Player of the Final and the Player of the Tournament, Melie Kerr has been slotted the No.4 slot in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Team of the Tournament. She was one of the major reasons behind New Zealand winning the title.

She slammed 135 runs in six innings, with her high score of 43 coming in the final. She took 15 wickets in the competition, becoming the tournament's leading wicket-taker. With the ball, she returned with the figures of 3/24 in the summit clash.

India Women's National Cricket Team skipper also cut into the ICC's Team. The right-hander was the team's leading run-getter in the tournament as she slammed 150 runs in four innings to go with two fifties to her name at an incredible average of 150.

West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin, who made her comeback in the World Cup, shined for the team with both bat and ball. She slammed 120 runs in five innings at an average of 40. She also was handy with the ball as she picked 5 wickets, including 4 for 22 in the semifinal against New Zealand.

Bangladesh wicketkeeper Nigar Sultana will be keeping the wickets in ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Team of the Tournament. She scored 104 runs in four innings at an average of 34.66, with a top score of 39 against the West Indies. She also made six stumpings and took one catch in the tournament.

West Indies' Afy Fletcher came up with a vital effort with the ball. She picked 10 wickets in total, including two 3-wicket hauls against Scotland and England. She also had an average of 11.50 and an economy of 6.38. She was also impressive in the semi-final as she picked two crucial wickets.

Rosemary Mair, Nonkululeko Mlaba, and Megan Schutt are bowlers in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Team of the Tournament

New Zealand pacer Rosemary Mair, who picked 10 wickets in the tournament, also made the cut into the ICC's Team. Her impressive performance came in the game against India, taking 4/19 from her four overs. Along with her, South Africa's Nonkululeko Mlaba, who picked 12 wickets, also made it into the team.

Australia’s pacer Megan Schutt is the last Player in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Team of the Tournament. She picked 8 wickets in the event at an average of 9. While New Zealand's off-spinner Eden Carson, who picked 9 wickets, is the 12th man in the team.
