ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 warm-up fixtures officially announced

The International Cricket Council has announced that four venues will host a total of nine warm-up matches ahead of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025. The warm-up matches will be played from September 25 to 28, with the mega event beginning on September 30.
All eight teams that have qualified for the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 will participate in the warm-up fixtures. Each team is set to play two matches, except for the defending champions, Australia, who will play only one warm-up game ahead of the tournament.
Warm-up schedule announced for ICC Women's World Cup 2025
The ICC has confirmed that warm-up games will take place at the Centre of Excellence Ground and M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, along with the R. Premadasa Stadium and Colombo Cricket Club Ground in Colombo. India ‘A’ and Sri Lanka ‘A’ will also take part in the warm-up games.
India ‘A’ will play one match, while Sri Lanka ‘A’ will play two games. The matches are expected to help teams get into rhythm ahead of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025.
Meanwhile, the warm-up matches for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 will begin on September 25 with India taking on England in a rematch of the 2017 final, while South Africa will face New Zealand in Bengaluru. Then, Sri Lanka will face Pakistan, while Bangladesh will play against Sri Lanka ‘A.’.
On September 27, Australia will play their only warm-up match against England. On the same day, Sri Lanka will take on Bangladesh, and India will face New Zealand. South Africa will face India ‘A,’ while Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka ‘A’ on the final day of the warm-up matches on September 28.

Cricket returns to Olympics after 128 years in LA28 Olympics Games
Meanwhile, the LA28 Organizing Committee has revealed the preliminary schedule for the 2028 Olympic Games. In a historic return, cricket will be part of the Olympics for the first time since 1900. The matches will be played from July 12 to 29, just before the official opening ceremony on July 14.
Cricket’s group stage games will be played in two parts: from July 12 to 18 and again from July 22 to 28. The medal matches are scheduled on separate days, with one medal match on July 19 and the final taking place on July 29, right before the closing ceremony.
All matches will be played at the Fairgrounds Cricket Stadium in Pomona, located about 48 km from downtown Los Angeles. This new stadium is being specially developed for the Olympics.
