Former South African player AB de Villers opened up on how he tried to control Virat Kohli’s anger issue and said that even the former India skipper will also vouch for him.

While speaking on his official YouTube channel, AB de Villers heaped praise on Virat Kohli and said that the player has an incredible and intense character when he is on the field. ABD also said that throughout his career, he tried to calm down Virat Kohli.

“He’s an incredible character, very intense on the cricket field. Throughout my whole IPL career, I have tried to calm him down. You can ask him; he’ll vouch for me. I’ve always tried to tell him, ‘Virat relax. It’s okay, everything is fine,’” said AB de Villers on Virat Kohli.

The Proteas also revealed that the Indian superstar wants to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Bangalore-based franchise and said that Kohli is always hungry to win.

“He so badly wants RCB to win, he would want to control every player on the field and make sure everyone is in the right place all the time, with every ball. You could see him get emotional on the field, which I absolutely love. He means good, he wants to win,” added said AB de Villers.

If Virat Kohli does that a bit more India might have a very good chance in this World Cup: AB de Villers

While speaking on India’s chances of winning the forthcoming ODI World Cup, ABD said that the Men in Blue have a good chance to win the upcoming tournament if Virat Kohli can perform well.

“Sometimes he needs to calm down and he’s been doing that of late. I have seen him really relaxed in taking on more of a senior role in the team and sort of doing the whole meditation kind of role. If Virat does that a bit more, India might have a very good chance in this World Cup to bring that trophy home,” AB de Villers further added.

In the ODI World Cup, Rohit Sharma-led India will start their campaign against Australia on October 8th at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
