England spinner, Adil Rashid opened up and spoke about his inclusion in the provisional squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India which will start from October 5th.
While giving an interview with The Yorkshire Post, Adil Rashid said that playing for the Three Lions gives him passion which helps to give the best on the field.
“You’re representing your country, every time you do that it gives you real passion and drive to try your best, play your best, and whilst doing that enjoy yourself,” Adil Rashid said.
The 38-year-old England spinner further said that he is looking forward to taking part in the upcoming ODI World Cup. Adil Rashid also added that they will be playing not just to compete but to win.
“I think I speak for everyone when I say we’re all looking forward to the World Cup. We’ve all got that drive to go to India and not just compete, but have that mindset and focus that we’ve come here on a mission with a job to do. Along the way, there’ll be some ups and downs, but that’s part and parcel of cricket and the nature of life. But as a squad we’re full strength, we’re a really tight-knit unit and hopefully, we can gel together,” added Adil Rashid.

The English spinner accepted that it is tough to play in India but the Three Lions squad has plenty of match winners, who all will help them to do their job.
Adil Rashid also talked about their glory in 2019 after winning the ODI World Cup and said that he will cherish that for the rest of his life.
“It’s going to be tough, India is a tough place to go to, but we believe we’ve got the players, the coaching staff, and all the tools, plus match-winners in the whole squad. Amazing. Four years ago though now. Time flies, but it’s something you’ll cherish for the rest of your life,” he further added.
Jos Buttler-led England will be playing their first match of the upcoming ODI World Cup in the inaugural game against New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
