Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam will be leading the squad in the upcoming ODI World Cup in India. There have been speculations about Pakistan’s participation in the tournament due to political reasons in India. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed they will be taking part in the tournament.

Recently there were rumors that the 28-year-old Pakistan skipper is set to take the next step in his life and tie the knot after the most prestigious tournament, ODI World Cup in November.

However, the claims have been totally dismissed by the player’s family members who said that rumors are fake and that Babar Azam’s main focus is now at the upcoming World Cup and nothing else.

While speaking to Cricket Pakistan, family members rejected the rumors and said that there is now a hurry in marriage. The family members also added that Babar Azam’s main goal is to take Pakistan cricket to the next level and that the fans at least have to wait for the next year to see the Pakistan skipper getting married.

Babar Azam’s management company, Saya Corporation took their X (formerly known as Twitter) account and dismissed the marriage rumors of the Pakistan skipper and termed it as ‘fake’ and asked the fans to stop sharing such unverified news on the micro-blogging sites and spread it.

The right-handed batsman, Babar Azam has played 100 ODI matches for his nation and scored 5089 runs with a strike rate of 89.25. In the T20I format, Azam featured in 104 matches and scored 3485 runs with a strike rate of 128.41. In the Test format, he took part in 49 matches and scored 3772 runs with a strike rate of 55.19.

Since the ODI World Cup is approaching, pressure is rising on Babar Azam since he will be playing a vital role to lead Pakistan’s batting lineup. Since they have also not managed to win any ICC trophies, the squad will be focusing on ending the trend.
