Former Australia seamer Glenn McGrath has named his top four teams for ICC World Cup 2023. Glenn McGrath feels that Australia will be one of the favorites to win the title.

ICC World Cup 2023 is set to take place in October-November in India and a total of 10 teams will be part of it. The tournament begins on October 5 and the final will take place on November 19.

During a conversation with The Times of India (TOI), Australia bowling legend Glenn McGrath named his best four teams for ICC World Cup 2023. According to the former right-arm pacer, Australia, England, India, and Pakistan are the four teams that can win the trophy this time.

“You wouldn’t be surprised that I’m putting Australia in that four. Obviously, India is playing in their own conditions. England is playing some great cricket and Pakistan is also playing fine. So, they are the best four,” the 53-year-old said.

Glenn McGrath was part of the dominating Australia team that won three consecutive ODI World Cup titles in 1999, 2003, and 2007. McGrath is also the leading wicket-taker in the ICC ODI World Cup tournament with 71 wickets to his name in 39 matches.

Australia won the ODI series against India 2-1 in March earlier this year. They won the ICC WTC title in 2023 by defeating India in the final. Hence, they are among a strong team in international cricket currently.

England Are Defending Champion Of the ICC World Cup 2023

England are the defending champion of the ICC World Cup 2023 as they won the last edition in 2019. Last year, England won the ICC T20 World Cup. Hence, they are among the dominating sides in white ball cricket.

India, being the hosts, are one of the favorites to win the ICC World Cup 2023. For instance, the last three editions of the ODI World Cups were won by the home teams. The Indian team are known for their dominance on home soil due to their strength with the spin attack.

Pakistan will travel to India after 2016 when they played in ICC T20 World Cup. Due to the similarity in ground conditions in India and Pakistan, the latter can also emerge as a strong side in the tournament. The Babar Azam-led side are also popular for their powerful bowling attack.
