“I do get a lot of comments on that. That I have got Dhoni’s number. Lot of people on social media, they love the No.7 on the back. Obviously, lot of MS Dhoni fans around there. 10 was my favourite number and unfortunately Timm Van Der Gugten has got that number so my next favourite number was seven and so that’s the story behind it.”

MS Dhoni talks about playing next year in the IPL as well
MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, has been a regular in IPL as well. But one question that was the hot soup of the IPL was will this be MS Dhoni’s last season in the league? There were a lot of speculations about if he will play the next season or if will it be his last season in the league, considering his age and fitness.
MS Dhoni, however, put the talks to rest. Although he isn’t sure if he will return to play in the next season or not, he said that if he returns back it’ll be a gift from him to the fans. But he needs to work hard. He said:
“Looking for an answer? This is the best time to announce my retirement. But the amount of love I have received all over. The easy thing would be to walk away from here, but the harder thing would be working hard for 9 months and try to play another IPL. It would be a gift from me, won’t be easy on the body.” He concluded.
MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings to the fifth IPL title in 2023 after they thumped Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets in the final. He scored 104 runs in 12 games in IPL 2023 at a strike rate of 182. They have now joint-most titles with Mumbai Indians in the league.
