England captain Jos Buttler has revealed the name of his favourite cricketer from the current era. The England superstar is currently in India for the ongoing 2023 ODI World Cup. A total of ten teams are participating in the marquee event.

The tournament got underway earlier this week. In the first game of the competition, reigning champions England locked horns against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The contest turned out to be a lopsided one as New Zealand inflicted an embarrassing 9-wicket defeat on the reigning ODI world champions.

Asked to bat first, England scored 282 runs with Joe Root’s 77-run knock being the highest individual score. In reply, the Black Caps chased down the total in less than 37 overs by losing just one wicket. Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway scored whirlwind unbeaten tons and shared an unbeaten 273-run stand to take their team home.

Coming to Jos Buttler’s favourite cricketer from the current era, the England star recently made the revelation. And to most of the fans’ surprise, the wicketkeeper-batsman did not pick any of his teammates such as Joe Root or Ben Stokes and also snubbed the likes of Virat Kohli and Steve Smith.

He picked his former IPL teammate and current India captain Rohit Sharma as his favourite cricketer from the current era. Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam also revealed their favourite cricketers during an interview at the Captains Day event. Babar picked New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson as his favourite while Shanaka picked Suryakumar Yadav.
