The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) initiated the sale of tickets for non-Indian matches in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 on August 25. The tickets were accessible through the official World Cup ticketing platform, BookMyShow.

Ticket sales commenced at 8:00 p.m. local time, and the demand was overwhelming. The ticketing app experienced a crash around 35 to 40 minutes. The World Cup organizers first released tickets for non-India matches and warm-up games before focusing on the Indian matches.

The 2023 ODI World Cup is scheduled to take place in India from October 5 to November 19. The schedule for the marquee event was delayed due to venue-related problems. Later, they rescheduled nine matches, including the India-Pakistan encounter, due to security reasons.
