Jasprit Bumrah is all set to make his international comeback in the T20I series against Ireland. He is all set to lead a young side in a three-match series between August 18-23.

Bumrah is making a comeback to international cricket after almost 11 months having undergone rehabilitation at the NCA following his back injury. He was out with a lower back injury and has now recovered fully to make his comeback.

The Indian pacer has been out of the Indian side since September 2022 and missed the T20 World Cup, the Border-Gavaskar series, and the WTC final for India. He was named in the Ireland T20I side for the Ireland series with the NCA giving him a clearance regarding his fitness.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Madan Lal has raised concerns over his fitness and India’s chances in the ODI World Cup at home. He said playing against Ireland will give Bumrah an idea regarding his fitness.

“It is good that he (Bumrah) is going to Ireland. He will get to play matches and get to know where he stands with regard to his fitness. He will have to play matches and maintain continuity. It is really important that he plays the World Cup and should not take any unnecessary chances,” Lal said to ANI.

Jasprit Bumrah Is An Asset For Us: Madan Lal

He further said that depending too much on Bumrah might not be a good sign and that the other bowlers will have to step up if India are to win a big tournament like the World Cup.

“Though Bumrah is an asset for us, one bowler cannot change everything. Our bowling will have to perform as a unit. If they do not do well for us, it would become difficult for us” Madan Lal said on Bumrah.

Glenn McGrath recently shared his thoughts on Bumrah’s international comeback saying that the Indian pacer needs to choose two formats and maybe give up on one to prolong his career.
