Veteran Indian wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik recently reacted to his former teammates Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh’s comments on social media. Dinesh Karthik highlighted that the Indian cricketers’ “good” performance is better than other teams’ “best.”
The much-awaited ODI World 2023 will be played in India from October 5 to November 19 across 10 venues. The Rohit Sharma-led team will be one of the favorites to win the title in the marquee tournament, given their familiarity with the pitches and the conditions.
The Men in Blue, led by the legendary skipper MS Dhoni, clinched the trophy in 2011, marking their last ICC ODI tournament victory on home soil. Their most recent ICC title triumph occurred in 2013 when they beat England in the final of the Champions Trophy.
We All Want A Repeat Of 2011 – Yuvraj Singh
Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh expressed on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter) that fans are eager to see the team replicate the 2011 World Cup triumph later this year.
“We all want a repeat of 2011 in #ICCWorldCup23 BUT In 2011 #TeamIndia shined under pressure. In 2023, Again, the team is under pressure to perform. Do we have enough time to turn this around? Can we use this pressure to become a ‘Game changer’,” Yuvraj Singh tweeted.
Hum Pressure Lenge Nahi, Denge – Virender Sehwag
Reacting to Yuvraj’s post, Virender Sehwag opined that the host nations won the title in the last three editions of the ODI World Cup. Australia and England lifted the trophies in the 2015 and 2019 editions, respectively, on their home soils.
“Ayi baat pressure ki, toh iss bar hum pressure lenge nahi, denge! Like champions! (When it comes to pressure, we won’t take it but we will give it to the opposition),” Sehwag replied on Yuvraj’s tweet.
Couldn’t Agree More Viru Paaji – Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik joined the discussion and agreed with Virender Sehwag’s opinion, stating that Team India have a history of achieving the impossible.
“Couldn’t agree more Viru paaji! This team has time and again done the impossible. Our GOOD is better than other team’s BEST. The guests can have everything they want but not the WORLD CUP,” Karthik wrote.
