Former Bangladesh cricketer Athar Ali Khan predicted the four semi-finalists for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India which will begin on October 5th and the final match will take place on November 19th. He said that Rohit Sharma’s India will surely qualify for the semi-finals.

Less than 40 days are left before one of the greatest sporting events starts and all the cricket pundits have already started to predict the semi-finalists for the tournament.

While speaking to RevSportz, Athar Ali Khan opened up on his favorite teams that can qualify for the semi-final of the ODI World Cup.

Khan first named Bangladesh and then he said that India would surely make it to the semi-final. The former Bangladesh player said that Australia have a good team and will make it through to the semi-final. In the end, Athar Ali Khan said that the fourth team would be either Pakistan or England.

“I have already told you about Bangladesh. India will surely make it. Australia too has a very good team. They have quality all-rounders and some very good fast bowlers. And in batting they bat deep and have powerful strikers. These are the three teams I will pick, and then it could be either Pakistan or England,” told Athar Ali Khan when asked about the four semi-finalists.

Can Rohit Sharma end India’s ICC trophy drought?

Rohit Sharma will be leading the Men in Blue in the prestigious tournament. The Indian skipper will have a lot of pressure on him this year since the team have failed to clinch an ICC trophy in the last 10 years, and this time Rohit Sharma will be looking forward to ending it.

India got a chance to end the drought during the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final against Australia but they lost the match by 209 runs.

Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, and KL Rahul’s return to the Asia Cup 2023 squad will be a relief for the team management since their presence in the first eleven will make the team stronger.

India will start their ODI World Cup voyage against Australia on October 8th at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
