ICC World Cup 2023: Rohit Sharma Provides Massive Update On India's World Cup Preparation, Reveals Who Will Be A Part Of India's World Cup Squad

India skipper, Rohit Sharma spoke on India’s preparation for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India and said that the Men in Blues are trying every possible way to improve the team.

While speaking to ICC, the India skipper talked about India’s 2015 and 2019 journey in World Cup and said that it was unfortunate how India lost in the semi-final against Australia in 2015.

“2015 and 2019, I was a part of it, which felt really good to play the World Cup. We went to the semi-finals, tried everything we could to go to the finals and play well in the finals, but again, a very unfortunate incident where we couldn’t go through to the finals,” Rohit Sharma said.

While talking about India’s preparation, Rohit Sharma said that the Men in Blues are giving everything to make sure the squad is fully ready for the World Cup and can perform well in the tournament which will go on for more than a month.

“But hopefully, you know, we are back home again, so hopefully we can turn things around and it’s still a long way to go. And you know you can’t win the World Cup in one or two days. You got to play well for an entire month, a month and a half, and be consistent. So you know, we are trying everything we can, from our perspective to make sure we are ready for the World Cup,” Rohit Sharma said on India’s preparation.

Even though the Men in Blues will be playing in front of their home crowd but still the 36-year-old skipper have to keep a lot of things in mind especially since he cannot make any mistake that might cost the trophy since they are already without any ICC trophies for more than 10 years.

However, many cricket pundits have already started to say that India will have an upper hand in the tournament since they are the host of the prestigious tournament and also because they have a strong squad on paper.

The Men in Blues will begin their ICC ODI World Cup 2023 voyage against Australia on October 8th, 2023.
