ICC World Cup 2023: Sachin Tendulkar Gets 'Golden Ticket' Of ODI WC 2023 From BCCI Secretary Jay Shah

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar received the ‘Golden Ticket’ for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in India from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah.

On Friday (September 8th), Sachin Tendulkar received the Golden Ticket. The Golden Ticket is a special guest pass presented to renowned people through which they get VIP access to all ODI World Cup matches.

BCCI took to their official X (formerly known as Twitter) account on Friday and announced the news and said that it is an iconic moment for Indian cricket and the nation.

“An iconic moment for cricket and the nation! As part of our “Golden Ticket for India Icons” programme, BCCI Honorary Secretary @JayShah presented the golden ticket to Bharat Ratna Shri @sachin_rt. A symbol of cricketing excellence and national pride, Sachin Tendulkar’s journey has inspired generations. Now, he’ll be part of the @ICC @cricketworldcup 2023, witnessing the action LIVE,” BCCI wrote on X.

Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan received the first Golden Ticket from the BCCI secretary Jay Shah which will allow him to get VIP access to all the ODI World Cup 2023 matches.

While sharing the news on X, BCCI wrote that Jay Shah was privileged to hand over the Golden Ticket to Amitabh Bachchan, who is considered the Superstar of the Millennium.

“Golden ticket for our golden icons! BCCI Honorary Secretary @JayShah had the privilege of presenting our golden ticket to none other than the “Superstar of the Millennium,” Shri @SrBachchan. A legendary actor and a devoted cricket enthusiast, Shri Bachchan’s unwavering support for #TeamIndia continues to inspire us all. We’re thrilled to have him join us for the @ICC @CricketWorldCup 2023,” BCCI wrote.

Sachin Tendulkar’s World Cup glory in 2011

Sachin Tendulkar was a part of the Indian Cricket Team in 2011 which won the ICC ODI World Cup. The Master Blaster made his World Cup debut in 1992, however, the former Indian cricketer’s dream to win the extravaganza trophy came true in 2011 after India clinched a victory against Sri Lanka in the final match by six wickets.

In the upcoming ODI World Cup, Rohit Sharma-led India will start their journey in the tournament against Australia on October 8 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
