ICC World Cup 2023 Schedule Announced, India vs Pakistan Match To Take Place On October 15

The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Tuesday, announced the official schedule for the ICC World Cup 2023 which is all set to commence on October 5 later this year. England and New Zealand, the respective winners and runners-up of the 2019 Cricket World Cup will play the inaugural game of ICC World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Team India, who will be one of the favorites to win the title, because the tournament is being played at home, will begin proceedings on October 8 against Australia. Much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash in ICC World Cup 2023 will take place on October 15.
ICC Announces The ICC World Cup 2023 Schedule
The International Cricket Council, along with BCCI, who are the hosts of the ICC 2023 Cricket World Cup, hosted an event in Mumbai on June 27 where the ICC World Cup 2023 full schedule was released.
As per the schedule, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will begin on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium with a clash between England and New Zealand, and the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will take place on November 19.

There were many deliberations over Pakistan’s participation in ICC World Cup 2023 in India but after having accepted the Asia Cup hybrid model, Pakistan gave its clearance to ICC to participate in the World Cup in India.
However, after giving the confirmation, there were reports of PCB seeking a change of venue from Chennai and Kolkata, the two venues designated for the Pakistan Cricket Team for its ODI World Cup games.
There has been huge pressure on the Indian Cricket Team to win an ICC trophy since the Men in Blue last won an ICC trophy in 2013 when MS Dhoni led them to the Champions Trophy title. Recently, they had a chance to clinch another ICC title when they met Australia in the ICC World Test Championship final where the Kangaroos beat them.
Mumbai and Kolkata will be hosting the semi-final games of the ICC World Cup 2023 whereas the Narendra Modi Stadium will host a total of 6 matches in the tournament including the opening game, the India vs Pakistan match, and the ICC World Cup 2023 final.
Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata are the finalized venues for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Thiruvananthapuram will host the warm-up matches from 29 September to 3 October.
