The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Wednesday (August 9), finally delivered an update on the availability of tickets for Team India’s matches in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The update came right after the governing body of the game finalized the schedule of the ICC World Cup.

A total of nine matches have been rescheduled including the high-profile clash between India and Pakistan. According to the original schedule, the match was scheduled to take place on October 15 in Ahmedabad. However, it will now take place on October 14 at the same venue.

As a result of the change, England’s match against Afghanistan in Delhi have been rescheduled to October 15 from October 14. The match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be taking place on October 10 instead of October 12 in Hyderabad while the high-profile clash between Australia and South Africa in Lucknow has moved back 24 hours and will now be played on October 12 instead of October 13.

In another change, the match between New Zealand and Bangladesh will now be played on October 13 instead of October 14. The double-header encounters of November 12 have been moved a day earlier to November 11 – Australia vs Bangladesh and England vs Pakistan. India’s last league game which is against the Netherlands has also been rescheduled to November 12 from November 11.

While finalizing the schedule for the ICC World Cup 2023, the apex body of the game also gave an update on the World Cup tickets as fans desperately wait to get their hands on them. In a release, the ICC confirmed that the tickets for the World Cup games involving Team India will be released in a phase-wise manner to avoid chaos among fans.

The ICC stated that the tickets for all the warm-up games and other World Cup games not including Team India will go on sale on August 25. The governing body has also given an opportunity to the fans to register their interest ahead of the World Cup tickets going on sale on this URL.

“We are delighted to announce that fans can register to receive information and updates on official tickets for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The schedule, after some amendments, has now been finalized and fans can now look forward to buying tickets and watching some high-quality cricket. The BCCI will leave no stone unturned to ensure that you have an enjoyable experience at all the hosting venues,” said BCCI CEO Hemang Amin.

“Tickets for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 will go on sale this month and we call on all of cricket’s hundreds of millions of fans to register your interest from next week to ensure you are one of the first to receive ticket news and to be a part of the biggest Cricket World Cup. The amendment to the schedule will ensure that players and fans will have the best possible experience at the pinnacle event of the one-day game,” said ICC Head of Events Chris Tetley.

World Cup tickets will go on sale on the following dates:

25 August – Non-India warm-up matches and all non-India event matches

30 August – India matches at Guwahati and Trivandrum

31 August – India matches at Chennai, Delhi and Pune

1 September – India matches at Dharamsala, Lucknow and Mumbai

2 September – India matches at Bengaluru and Kolkata

3 September – India matches at Ahmedabad

15 September – Semi Finals and Final

Meanwhile, the ICC World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be played from October 5 while the final will be on November 19. England and New Zealand will be taking on each other in the tournament opener.
