ICC World Cup 2023: 'Will Try To Get The Issue Resolved' - Rajeev Shukla After HCA Raises Concern About WC Schedule

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla, who is also in charge of the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad during the upcoming ODI World Cup, gave assurance to the cricket fans who are planning to visit the stadium during the upcoming tournament.
ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to kick off on 5th October. However, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) continue to show their concerns to the BCCI, regarding hosting two matches in the time span of 24 hours on October 9th and 10th.
According to a report by Sportstar, a senior official from the organizational committee said that many things are at stake, which includes providing security during the two big matches and also logistics.
???We were told that the issue would be re-examined though at the same time we were being hinted that it would be difficult to change the schedule again at this point of time,??? the senior official said to Sportstar.
The official also added that they are still waiting for the final answer from the apex body of Indian cricket regarding the matches in Hyderabad on October 9th and 10th.
???So, we are waiting for the final response,??? the official added.
It is not easy to change the World Cup schedule: Rajeev Shukla
While speaking to the media, Rajeev Shukla revealed that he is in charge of the Hyderabad stadium during the ODI World Cup.
Shukla guaranteed the fans that if they face any issue or anything during the major tournament, the 63-year-old will try to get it resolved. Rajeev Shukla further added that it is not easy to change the World Cup dates once the schedule is out.
The former IPL chairman also said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) alone can???t change the match dates and International Cricket Council (ICC) is also involved.
???I am in charge of Hyderabad venue for WC. If there will be any issue or anything, will try to get it resolved. It is not easy to change the World Cup schedule and it???s unlikely to happen. Only BCCI can???t change schedule, teams, ICC, all involved,??? said Rajeev Shukla.
On October 9th, Hyderabad will host New Zealand vs Netherlands match from 2:00 PM IST. Within 24 hours on October 10th, Pakistan will play their second match of the tournament against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad at 2:00 PM IST.
