England's victory in the second Test match against New Zealand brought changes to the ICC World Test Championship (WTC 2023-25 points table). Despite winning the second Test by 323 runs, England, led by Ben Stokes, won't be in contention for a spot in the World Test Championship final clash.

The Ben Stokes-led side clinched the three-match Test series with a 2-0 margin at the Basin Reserve, Wellington, on Sunday, December 8. New Zealand was bowled out for 259 runs while chasing a target of 583. Harry Brook, Joe Root, Brydon Carse, and Gus Atkinson played crucial roles in England's win.

Tom Blundell scored his fifth Test century, and Nathan Smith added 42 runs. New Zealand fell short by over 300 runs during their run chase.
