ICC World Test Championship Points Table, WTC Table After SL vs BAN 2nd Test 2025

The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 standings changed twice within a span of a few hours on Saturday, June 28. Sri Lanka, led by Dhananjaya de Silva, climbed to third place in the WTC table after securing an innings and 78-run victory over Bangladesh at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
Sri Lanka sealed the two-match Test series against Bangladesh with a 1-0 victory. The Sri Lankan bowlers applied relentless pressure on the Bangladeshi batters throughout the match. Sri Lanka needed just 33 deliveries to claim the remaining four wickets on the fourth morning and wrap up the match.
Pathum Nissanka Named Player of the Match and Player of the Series
Bangladesh posted 247 in their first innings after winning the toss. Shadman Islam top-scored for Bangladesh with 46. Sri Lanka’s bowlers delivered an impressive performance on Day 2 to bowl out the visitors on a good batting surface.
In response, Sri Lanka posted a total of 458 and took a massive 211-run lead. Pathum Nissanka scored 158 runs, his second consecutive 150-plus score of the series after making 187 in the first Test. Dinesh Chandimal contributed 93 off 153 balls, while Kusal Mendis added 84.
Under pressure from the huge deficit, Bangladesh collapsed in their second innings, managing only 133. Prabath Jayasuriya starred with the ball, taking 5 wickets to seal the win. Pathum Nissanka was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his outstanding batting performances.

After the recent matches in the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27, Australia and England remain at the top of the WTC Table, each with 12 points and a points percentage of 100.00.
Sri Lanka have climbed to third place following their victory over Bangladesh in Colombo. With one win and one draw from two matches, they have 16 points and a points percentage of 66.67. Bangladesh have slipped to fourth with just 4 points and a points percentage of 16.67.
India and the West Indies are yet to open their accounts after losing their only matches. They are placed fifth and sixth on WTC Table, respectively. New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa are yet to begin their campaigns.
