Like multiple former cricketers-turned-cricket experts, Ajay Jadeja is also not happy with Yashasvi Jaiswal's gesture against the Sri Lanka pacer Asitha Fernando on Day 1 of the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka second Test two-match series in Colombo.
On the first day of the match, Asitha Fernando dismissed the Indian opener when he was nearing a Test half-century. Yashasvi Jaiswal's innings came to an end for a 53-ball 45. The Lankan fast bowler celebrated the dimissal of aggreesievly and said something to the departing batter, which made Jaiswal furious.

Jaiswal turned back and replied to Asitha Fernando. While verbal spats are common in cricket, a physical altercation is not acceptable. Yashasvi Jaiswal went too close to the bowler. To ease the matter down, all of the Sri Lankan players on the ground came to the spot. What really happened between Jaiswal and Fernando is yet to be disclosed, but what happened in broad daylight, in front of the audience, is hard to accept.
Ajay Jadeja highlighted that in the previous match in Galle, Jaiswal made some comments to the Sri Lankan batter Niroshan Dickwella to distract him. Soon after Jaiswal's comments, Dickwella lost his wicket and walked away. In the following match, a pumped-up Asitha Fernando commented to Yashasvi Jaiswal when he was about to leave the pitch after losing his scalp.
Ajay Jadeja issues advice to Yashasvi Jaiswal
Jadeja said that if someone can't laugh at himself, then he should not laugh at others. The former cricketer wanted to say that the words from Fernando's mouth on Sunday (August 23) were directed at Jaiswal, in reaction to Jaiswal's comments to Dickwella in the previous game.
"It is dangerous territory. There is no doubt about that. Physical contact is a different thing. In the last match, Jaiswal was on the other side. He was fielding, and he said things to Niroshan Dickwella, and we said that banter is nice as long as there is nothing wrong with your language," the former India all-rounder said during a discussion on Sony Sports.
"The same thing happened, but if someone cannot laugh at himself, he shouldn't laugh at others. If you can't take it back, don't say it to others either while standing on the ground," he added.
Match referee Andy Pycroft tipped to take action against Yashasvi Jaiswal
Andy Pycroft is the match referee, and definitely had noted what happened on the ground. Pycroft is among the strict match referees who are known to take action against the cricketers who breach the norms of the game. If he finds Jaiswal guilty in the incident, then he could take action against him.
At the end of Day 1, Team India was on 300 runs on board with five wickets down and Dhruv Jurel and Saransh Jain on the crease unbeaten. At Lunch on Day 2, they were on 419 for 6 with Jurel batting on an unbeaten 59 and Rishabh Pant on an unbeaten 63.
