Dawid Malan has heaped praises on his skipper Joe Root after the latter smacked a spectacular century in the 3rd Test against India in Leeds. Calling Joe Root one of the best players to play the game, Malan said that Root can hurt any bowler if he mises his line and length.

In the ongoing India vs England 3rd Test encounter at Headingly in Leeds, Joe Root hit 121 runs in 165 balls on Day 2, smashing his 3rd century in the series. With his knock, the right-handed batsman managed to send the Virat Kohli and boys into pressure, with a massive lead over visitors in the 1st innings itself.

Dawid Malan Praises Joe Root For His Batting

While speaking to the media in a virtual conference. Dawid Malan praised the consistency at which Root has batted in the series so far. Malan, who was at the other end when Root slammed his century, said that it’s great to watch him play.

“You look at all the best players that have played – all the greats, if you want to put it that way – and as soon as you miss your line and your length, they hurt you. Joe is one of those”, the 33-year-old said.

Malan, who built a 139-run stand with Root for 3rd wicket, also praised the latter’s footwork while batting.

“He just moves his feet so well and his position when he hits the ball is so good, he hits the ball so much later than most people. He always looks to score with intent, you know if you bowl a bad ball he just puts you away,” he further said.
