Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu made a massive statement about MS Dhoni & Co.'s campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He said that MS Dhoni is already thinking about building a team for the next season.

The Chennai Super Kings are having one of their worst campaigns in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The MS Dhoni-led side are reeling last on the points table as they have managed just two wins in the 9 games that they have played so far in the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings are on the verge of getting eliminated from the IPL 2025. It's now an all-win situation for them as they need to win all five games now to have a chance to qualify for the playoffs. As it will take them to 14 points, then NRR is likely to come into play.

Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings faced another poor loss. They suffered a 5-wicket loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday (25th April). They looked extremely poor with the bat and ball as the Orange Army beat them for the first time in Chepauk.

Chennai Kings were asked to bat first and they got all out for 154 runs. After that, they couldn't put much pressure on the ball as Sunrisers Hyderabad held their nerves and chased the target with 5 wickets and more than one over to spare.

I'm sure he's already thinking about building a team for next year - Ambati Rayudu on MS Dhoni

While talking about the performance of Chennai Super Kings, Ambati Rayudu admitted that it's the lowest of lows for the team. He pointed out the franchise will be vigilant about evolving with the game, saying that MS Dhoni also acknowledged that, and he is already thinking about next year. Speaking on Jio Star, he said:

"I know it's the lowest of lows, but it's also a great learning for CSK. If you rest on your laurels and don't keep an eye on the future, this is what can happen. From here on, they'll be very, very vigilant about evolving with the game. Even MS Dhoni has acknowledged that the game has moved on, and I'm sure he's already thinking about building a team for next year."

You have to stick to the basics and stay humble - Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu pointed out the positives for the Chennai Super Kings in Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis. He added that the franchise needs to stick to basics and stay humble. He elaborated:

“We've seen some shining lights in the batting line-up, particularly Brevis and Mhatre - those are real positives. Sometimes, it takes a season like this to ground a team and remind them that the game is always bigger than us. You have to stick to the basics and stay humble,"

Chennai Super Kings will be next seen in action when they take on Punjab Kings on April 30.
