We Can Have Some Good Conversations – Jos Buttler
Speaking after England’s victory, Jos Buttler opened up about his future as captain of the team, mentioning that he would like to have discussions with Rob Key, who is arriving in India, and the coaching staff to plan for the tour.
“I’d like to [lead in the Caribbean]. I know Rob Key arrives in India today. We can have some good conversations with him and the coach and everyone, and make a plan for that tour. But yeah, I’d like to,” Buttler said.
The England team kept their hopes alive for qualifying for the Champion’s Trophy 2025. The top eight teams will advance to the tournament in Pakistan. England will face Pakistan in their last match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, November 11.
Hopefully, I’ll Come Come Out The Other Side – Jos Buttler
The 33-year-old expressed his frustration with his own form, emphasizing his desire to lead by example with better performances. The wicketkeeper batter hoped to overcome his recent run of poor form soon.
“You want to lead from the front and do that in your own performance. I’ll stick to the stuff that’s served me well over a long period of time when I’ve had these little runs of form and hopefully, I’ll come out the other side of it very soon,” Buttler further added.
Buttler, known for his aggressive batting in limited-overs cricket, has been unable to score a fifty in the 2023 World Cup. He scored just 111 runs in eight matches with a dismal average of 13.88. He scored five runs in his recent match against the Netherlands.
