Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers issued a fresh apology to Virat Kohli for revealing about his second child information. He said that everyone should respect the batter and his family and his private time.
Virat Kohli continued to remain absent from the Indian squad from the Indian squad for the last three Tests against England. The batter pulled out of the entire series due to personal reasons and won’t be taking part at any time in the series.
There have been a lot of speculations about the well-being of Virat Kohli and his family and many are wondering why the batter has pulled out. AB de Villiers recently gave a hint and stated that batter will be missing the series because he along with his wife are expecting their second child.
“Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him, but he has made the right decision,” he had said.
However, immediately after that AB de Villiers said that he was extremely sorry for spreading the misinformation and he didn’t know what was going on with Virat Kohli. The former Proteas batter also faced a lot of backlash for his comments as well.
After the Indian squad for the last three Tests against England was announced, AB de Villiers shared his verdict on the situation of Virat Kohli. He admitted that he did a blunder earlier on and he is sorry for that.
AB de Villiers also urged fans to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy, saying that family comes first and no one knows what’s going on with the batter. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:
“My friend Virat Kohli is still not available. I cry out to everybody to give him the privacy that he deserves. Family comes first. No one knows what exactly is going on. I am asking all of us to respect that. I did a bit of a blunder in my previous show and I apologise to the Kohli family for that.”
I shared information that was not confirmed at all so – AB de Villiers on Virat Kohli
AB de Villiers admitted that he shared the information that was not right at all. He is hopeful that Virat Kohli will be back early on, scoring runs like he does. He added:
“Just not nice. I shared information that was not confirmed at all so. I am begging everyone out there to respect him and his family and his private time. Hopefully, we will see Virat back, happy and scoring runs. Like he always does.”
Virat Kohli is now expected to make a return to cricket in the IPL. After the ongoing series, the league will begin and the batter is expected to play for RCB.
