'I'm Going To Keep Chasing And Improve My Game" - Mayank Agarwal Refuses To Give Up On Team India Recall

Indian batter Mayank Agarwal has been battling it out in the domestic circuit to get back his spot in the playing XI of the Indian team. The Karnataka batter went out of favour after a string of failures.
In addition to that, he had a poor outing with the bat in the IPL 2022 season but that was majorly down to him sacrificing his position for the sake of the team. Nevertheless, returning to the Indian setup is his top priority.

“I am somebody who isn’t going to give up. I am going to keep chasing it and improve my game with each passing day. I will be very happy with whatever comes my way, but the aspirations and dreams never die. It’s about going out there, improving and ticking all those boxes,” Agarwal told ESPNcricinfo.
Mayank Agarwal honing his game for the limited-overs formats
Agarwal is a naturally aggressive player but he has never clicked in the white-ball formats. The 31-year-old revealed that he has been adding shots to his armoury to try and get back on the selectors’ radar.
“In the last four months, I’ve really worked hard on my batting. As you can see, I’ve started sweeping and reverse-sweeping the ball, that too against the fast bowlers. I’ve opened up four-five areas in my game which are paying rich dividends. I am very happy that the hard work I put in is paying off now.”

“Getting two hundreds in a T20 tournament like the Maharaja Trophy feels amazing. It feels really nice when the players respond to you the way you want. Obviously runs behind my back really makes me feel good and then I can lead from the front,” Agarwal added.
