In another shocking development, Pakistan National Cricket Team’s senior stars Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq are set to miss the upcoming domestic first-class tournament. Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have been allegedly stopped from playing domestic cricket.
Imam and Rizwan, both recently sent back home from the England tour, still face an investigation over alleged dressing-room leaks, which is why they are not eligible to participate in Pakistan cricket, including domestic matches.

As reported by ARY News, Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq are not eligible to take part in Pakistan’s upcoming domestic first-class tournament. The two senior players will not feature in the Presidents Cup, which will get underway on Saturday, September 12.
Both Rizwan and Imam were expected to lead their respective departmental teams in the premier tournament. However, neither player will take part in the Presidents Cup, as they have not completed the mandatory fitness tests required by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The PCB has made it compulsory for departmental teams to conduct fitness tests and submit the reports before players can be cleared for first-class cricket. In the case of Rizwan and Imam, their departments do not have the required fitness reports because they did not appear for the tests.

However, there is also more to the story. A PCB source revealed that Rizwan and Imam are also not being cleared because they are currently facing an inquiry by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over alleged dressing-room leaks. Amid this, Babar Azam achieved a rare WTC milestone that Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma failed to reach.
Rizwan and Imam appeared before the NCCIA on Thursday, September 10, as part of the investigation. The PCB has confirmed that the agency is looking into the alleged leaks. This case has become especially important because it is reportedly the first time the PCB has approached a cyber agency over allegations involving players from the national team.
There is also a political angle to the matter. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi is also Pakistan’s Interior Minister, and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency comes under his ministry. The PCB had already started an internal inquiry after media reports raised questions about discipline and player conduct inside the team.
Rizwan’s poor form, Imam’s injury add to Pakistan crisis
Now, the NCCIA investigation has added to the controversial situation. Rizwan is also under pressure because of his recent batting form. The senior Pakistan batter has struggled to score runs recently and has not been able to make a strong impact with the bat.
On the other hand, Imam has faced questions over his injury. He suffered a Grade 1 tear in his left calf but still decided to face a few knockdowns despite appearing to have problems while moving. His decision reportedly did not sit well with some individuals within the PCB.
With their fitness, form, discipline, and the cyber investigation all becoming talking points, the pressure on Rizwan and Imam continues to increase. They were among seven Pakistan players sent back home from the ongoing England tour after the team suffered two Test defeats.
