Imran Khan, the former Pakistan cricket is very disappointed with his team's loss to Bangladesh at home in the first Test.

Bangladesh registered a historic 10-wicket win in the first Test in Rawalpindi. The victory came as a breath of fresh air amid the civil unrest within the country.

Meanwhile, for Pakistan, it was a disappointing loss at home, where they have not won a Test match since 2022. They won a Test match last at home in February 2021 against South Africa.

Nine home matches without a win is their second-longest winless streak of all time.

On two previous occasions, they have gone winless in eight home matches (March 1959-October 1964 and October 1998-March 2000). Their worst run ever remains 11 winless matches, from February 1969 to March 1975.

The loss has pushed them to the ninth position on the WTC points table. They will have to win the second Test against Bangladesh to level the series and stay relevant in this WTC campaign.

After Bangladesh, they play against England in a home series in October which comprises of three-Test matches.

Pakistan skipper Shan Masood has been heavily criticized for not including a spinner in the XI, They fielded an all-pace attack which could not do the work in the first Test.

Though the pitch did not offer much turn in the first innings, Bangladesh spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan took seven wickets between them to gain the advantage in the second innings.

Imran Khan Slams Mohsin Naqvi & PCB

"Cricket is the only sport the entire nation watches with great interest on TV, but even that has been destroyed by powerful quarters who brought in an unqualified, favored official to maintain their control," Imran Khan said, as quoted by his X account.

"For the first time, we (Pakistan) didn’t make it to the top four in the World Cup or the top eight in T20. And yesterday, we faced an embarrassing defeat against Bangladesh, setting a new low. Just two-and-a-half years ago, this team had defeated India by 10 wickets. What has happened in these two-and-a-half years that we lost to Bangladesh by 10 wickets? The blame for all of this collapse falls on one institution," he added.

He has further criticized PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for being involved in corruption The PCB chairman, who took control of the board in February 2024, also serves as the Federal Interior Minister of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Naqvi now has all fingers pointing at him with former cricketers and cricket experts questioning him and making him responsible for the sad state of affairs in Pakistan cricket.

After Pakistan's loss to Bangladesh in the first Test, Naqvi has promised to change the face of Pakistan cricket saying “I will fix the issues in Pakistan cricket, God willing. And changes are on the way."
