Guyana Amazon Warriors clinched the 2025 Global Super League title with a win over Rangpur Riders in the final at Providence Stadium in Guyana on July 19. Forty-six-year-old spinner Imran Tahir led the Warriors to victory over the defending champions, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz playing a crucial role.
Guyana Amazon Warriors opted to bat after winning the toss in the final. They posted a total of 196 for 4 - the highest score of the tournament. In response, Rangpur Riders were bowled out for 164 in the final over, falling 32 runs short. The Warriors sealed a convincing victory to lift the Global Super League title.

Guyana Amazon Warriors celebrated a memorable title win in front of their home supporters at Providence Stadium, with 46-year-old captain Imran Tahir lifting the Global Super League trophy. The leg-spinner was named Player of the Series for taking 14 wickets at an average of 9.29 in five matches.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz earned the Player of the Match award for his explosive knock in the final.
Notably, Rangpur Riders reached the final for the second consecutive season. After a flawless start with three wins and a rain-hit match, their hopes of defending the title came undone in the final.

Johnson Charles and Rahmanullah Gurbaz Hit Fifties to Guide Warriors to Massive Total
After losing opener Evin Lewis for just 5, the Warriors bounced back with a 121-run partnership between Johnson Charles and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Charles scored 67 off 48 balls before retiring out, while Gurbaz smashed 66 off 38 with six boundaries and four sixes.
Shimron Hetmyer perished for a golden duck. However, Romario Shepherd scored an unbeaten 28 off just nine deliveries, helping the team reach 196 runs.
Riders captain Nurul Hasan used seven bowlers in an attempt to halt the flow of runs, but the Warriors still struck 6 sixes and 19 fours in their innings. Khaled Ahmed, Tabraiz Shamsi, and Iftikhar Ahmed took a wicket each but failed to contain the scoring.
Dwaine Pretorius Stars with the Ball to Dismantle Rangpur Riders
The Riders were reduced to 32 for 3 inside the powerplay. The innings began with the run-out of Ibrahim Zadran in the second over, followed by Soumya Sarkar falling to Dwaine Pretorius and Kyle Mayers being dismissed by Moeen Ali.
Saif Hassan (41 off 26) and Iftikhar Ahmed (46 off 29) revived the innings with a 73-run stand. However, Saif’s run-out once again shifted momentum in the Warriors' favor. The Riders lost five wickets in just four overs, collapsing to 126 for 8.
Pretorius was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 37. Imran Tahir took 2 wickets for 39. Moeen Ali impressed with a spell of 1 for 13 in three overs. Gudakesh Motie also chipped in with two wickets, while Akeal Hosein remained economical with 0 for 24 from his full quota.
